Board Member Bio

Linda Roberts

Born and raised in Humboldt County California, Linda Roberts comes from a large family of both Yurok and Karuk Indians. 

Linda attended local public school and graduated from Eureka High School. Linda later went on to study at College of the Redwoods where she received obtained certification as a Mental Health Counselor as well as certification in Business Management Services. 

Linda continued her studies at Humboldt State University were she majored in Native American Studies. Linda serves the board as our Corporate Secretary and is also our Native American Cultural Liaison. 

Linda possesses a great deal of knowledge regarding native history, basket and regalia making, gathering of native materials, herbs, teas and other traditional materials. 

Linda was employed for over 18 years by the Eureka City School System. Linda has also worked with and contributed countless hours of service to the following organizations: Tri-County Indian Development Council, Eureka City Schools, Yurok Tribe, California Basketweavers, SUMEG Village, Clark Museum, Humboldt State University ITEP. 

Additionally, Linda has spent many years working with and training Indigenous Youth to gather basket materials, basket and regalia making and traditional botany.
